Turbocharged Performance
The Volkswagen Tiguan comes standard with a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The powertrain delivers over 180 horsepower and well over 200 pound-feet of torque, giving you smooth acceleration with pep! The turbocharged nature of this engine increases air intake for faster cooling and added fuel economy.
Volkswagen Car-Net®
All Tiguan trims feature the Volkswagen Car-Net® system, which allows you to access and regulate your car through a smartphone app. You can lock or unlock doors, start the engine, and activate the headlights or horn. The Car-Net® app also tells you your fuel level, mileage, parking info, and estimated time until your next service visit.
4MOTION® All-Wheel-Drive
Available 4MOTION® AWD system helps you retain total control in any driving situation. When your Tiguan with the 4MOTION® option detects slippage or changing weather conditions, it can distribute engine power evenly between the front and rear wheels to maintain optimal grip and stability. Because the Tiguan had a major refresh in the 22 model year (see below for details on that), only a couple little changes were made for 2023. All Tiguan USB ports have been upgraded to 45W, and the Tiguan SE R-Line Black got a new 19-inch wheel design.
What changed in the '22 Tiguan Refresh?
The Volkswagen Tiguan received an interior and exterior style refresh for the 22 model year, along with some technology updates across all trims including more touchscreen controls. Heated front seats were made a standard feature. Tiguan received an updated bumper and grille and optional grille-spanning LED light line to provide a signature look. Available 3rd row seating was offered on front-wheel drive models only. At that time, trim levels were reduced by one to the following four: S, SE, SE R-Line Black, and SEL R-Line.
